OUTREACH OPPORTUNITIES

The Global Day of Prayer is followed by

“90 Days of Blessing” (May 12th– August 9th)

During this time, the Body of Christ in Central Florida will be encouraged to reach out to their communities through tangible acts of love and compassion. This is an opportunity for Christians to not only continue in persistent prayer, but to become actively involved in serving and reaching out. This is a time of being creative in the Spirit, a time of becoming the hands and feet of Jesus in broken communities.

There are many different opportunities available to the Body of Christ in our area through which we can demonstrate this Christ-like servanthood.  We strongly encourage that you pray for guidance regarding which strategy to use in your community. 

• Identify and highlight local ministries working in your area.

• Go and see the ministries that are already in their communities.

•  Have your  youth groups, men’s / women’s ministries, home groups et al come up underneath them, and serve...

for either a short term or long-term basis.

It has been so exciting to see the momentum growing toward Fusion 2008.  The weekend of October 3-5, 2008 is going to be an exciting time across our community.  Last year we saw over 2200 people out serving at 149 different projects from 30+ area churches.  It our goal to see those numbers double in 2008!
 
Fusion is an annual event empowering local churches to get involved in community service that clearly demonstrates the power of God's love through acts of empowered kindness.   We hope this weekend of service leads people to serve in their community throughout the year. The first step to a successful weekend is to begin gathering and training those who will lead your church through Fusion 2008 (your Church Liaison).  This individual will help set up projects, recruit Project Leaders and work with church leadership to promote Fusion 2008 to your congregation.  We are offering (coaching / training / information sessions) to Church Liaisons to help them learn to navigate our-user friendly website and help them understand their responsibilities, from pre-planning all the way to the event..
 
Would you please join other church leaders for this very strategic meeting on either May 7th or 8th?  In order to make it easier for you, we are offering two different dates and locations.  Just chose the one that best fits your schedule.

Lunch will be provided .  It is very important that someone from every Fusion church be represented at one of these meetings.  Please forward this on to any other church who you think might be interested in joining us this fall.
