Angel Tree is a ministry that reaches out to the children of inmates and their families with the love of Christ. It seeks to transform the lives of these families and to reconcile them to their Heavenly Father and each other. In Matthew 18:5 Jesus said, “Whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me.” This holiday season there still over 1.400 children in your community who are among the most at-risk children in the nation and have not yet been sponsored by a local church. Angel Tree provides an opportunity to connect with those families and begin ministering to them at Christmas and then continue through a variety of year-round ministry opportunities.

We are seeking local churches to sponsor these children with a gift and gospel.  To learn more please visit our website www.angeltree.org or contact Katherine Burns, 1-866-572-4808.

TIME DATED MATERIAL….Operation Deliverance II

This letter is from OC Sheriff Kevin Beary and OC Chaplains’ Coordinator Miguel Pagan inviting the Body of Christ to participate in Operation Deliverance II, a concerted prayer siege in one of Central Florida’s highly crime ridden areas. Here are a few pertinent details (with more info in the letter below).

Operation Deliverance II

DATES: August 18 - September 26

SITE: YMCA on Oakridge

1- Come out for the opening session on August 18th at 7 PM. Spend that first hour with the rest of the Body as we corporately launch OD II.

2- Field a prayer team to go on site to pray on one of the other 39 evenings. We are one Body in Christ and we do not stand alone…nor should we!

Thank you for participating in this crucial prayer initiative.

For the KING and HIS KINGDOM!

Maureen Bravo - Intercessory Prayer Network of Central Florida - Maureen@ruii.org

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office Chaplain’s Program is asking for your assistance and participation in an event that will unite law enforcement, places of worship and the community in making a difference in our neighborhoods particularly when crime is affecting us all.
The event “Operation Deliverance II,” consists of area churches and ministries volunteering at least one hour to pray in a designated area for forty straight days without interruption.
For this event we have partnered with the Oakridge YMCA located at 814 W. Oakridge Rd. The times will always remain the same (7 pm-8:00 pm M-F and 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm on S-Sun). All we ask is that you select a day between the dates of August 18 through September 26, 2008.
There is no doubt that prayer is a strong tool to reach peace and harmony. Doctors encourage patients and relatives to use prayer as part of the healing process for their patients. We too could use prayer as a tool to bring peace, harmony and the end of violence in our communities.
This is a prayer event, music instruments are welcomed but not loud speakers or megaphones. You are encouraged to bring church bulletins or brochures to hand out. Through you we want to invite others to pray for the community and get involved. This event has been conducted in other parts of Orange County and the City of Orlando and it has been very successful.
Please consider our request to host one of the days of prayer by gathering members of your congregation for at least one hour at the mentioned location. Remember you select the date. The only thing we ask is that you be there for at least one hour and that a day is not missed.
Please contact me to schedule your congregation by calling 407-254-7119 or email me at Miguel.pagan@ocfl.net.
Your cooperation is vital. Please join us in this effort in making a difference in our community and ending violence once and for all.
Sincerely,
Kevin E. Beary
Orange County Sheriff
and
Captain Miguel A. Pagán
Chaplain Program Coordinator
Event: Operation Deliverance II 40 days of Prayer.
The purpose is to bring churches in a particular neighborhood together to pray for their community. So many negative factors affect the lives of our citizens and they do not know where to get help. This is an opportunity for places of worship to reach out to them. It is also an opportunity for law enforcement to build a strong partnership with the community and places of worship to make our neighborhoods a safer place to live.  July 11, 2008
To:  Pastors and Christian Leaders in Florida and Arizona
From: Pastors and Christian Leaders in California
We are a collection of California pastors – writing to pastors in FL and AZ.  Our three states have something in common.  On November 4,California, Arizona and Florida will be voting on the definition of marriage.  As California pastors, we are honored to partner with our good friend, John Stemberger in Florida who has worked so faithfully for marriage and family.  We now join him!
On June 25th, over 1,600 of us joined together to protect marriage in a Statewide Pastors Conference Call.  We gathered at 101 locations throughout the state.  Now we are preparing for our next conference call.
 3 STATE CONFERENCE CALL – INVITING YOU  Two thousand pastors and Christian leaders across California are coming together at 200+ locations (host churches) for a statewide Pastors Strategic Protect Marriage Conference Call (1 hour and 45 minutes) on Wednesday, July 30, at 10 AM in California and Arizona, and 1 PM in Florida.
May we invite all pastors and Christian leaders from Florida and Arizona to join us for this gathering?  Would it be beneficial for us to have “three state solidarity” on this issue from now until November 4, Election Day?   If so, would you please forward this email invitation to every Florida and Arizona pastor and Christian leader you know.  We plan to offer the conference call in simultaneous Spanish translation.
 HOSTING A SITE  If you, as a pastor, are willing to host a gathering of Florida or Arizona pastors and Christian leaders at your church, please see the PS section at the end of this letter
 FORWARD AND ALERT US TO NEW EMAIL ADDRESSES  Additionally, please forward this email to as many Florida and Arizona pastors and Christian leaders as you can - or email us from Florida at
marriagequestion3@skylinechurch.org and from Arizona at marriagequestion2@skylinechurch.org  with the names of pastors and Christian leaders so that we can keep them informed of future developments.
 STRATEGY  In addition, we will cover the strategy for preparing for (and winning) the California, Arizona and Florida Constitutional Marriage Amendment votes in November.  This is a winnable war.  And, unfortunately, the freedom to proclaim the Gospel hinges on the outcome of this election.
 Here in California, we are focused on a 100-Day Prayer Period will launch July 28, ending at the election, November 4.  Within that 100 day period, there will be a 40-Day Statewide Fast, from September 24 to November 2.  Individuals may fast portions or all of the 40 days, as they are led, or they may fast in “relays” as teams.   If you feel it is pleasing to the Holy Spirit, we invite our pastor friends in Florida and Arizona to join us in this prayer and fasting period.
 In our hearts, we know that what is really needed is more than a voting victory in November.  What is needed is revival and an avalanche of Holy Spirit-given evangelism. That is why we pray.
 RESPONSE NEEDED NOW  Online registration for the meeting is available on www.protectmarriagesd.com  Please register on-line to insure sufficient materials are available for those attending at each location.
 Brothers and sisters, so called gay marriage is not inevitable.  This IS winnable!
 We pray blessings on you – Florida and Arizona – this day.
 Your pastor friends… in this ultimately victorious battle,
 Jim Garlow, Skyline Church, San Diego
Chris Clark, East Clairemont Baptist Church, San Diego
Miles McPherson, The Rock Church, San Diego
Jack Hibbs, Calvary Chapel, Chino Hills (LA area)
Jim Franklin, Cornerstone Church, Fresno
Dudley Rutherford, Shepherd of the Hills, Porter Ranch (LA area)
Timothy Winters, Bayview Baptist Church, San Diego
 Along with 1600 other CA pastors and Christian leaders who love Florida and Arizona
PS - WHAT IS NEEDED IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HOST A SITE
If you can host a site, or if you know of a pastor who will host, please contact Chris Clark at marriagequestion4@skylinechurch.org  if from Arizona or marriagequestion5@skylinechurch.org  if from Florida, or call 619-415-5453 ASAP if you are willing to host.
In our June 25 statewide pastors call, we offered only audio capability (with some 200 power point slides for the 90 minute event).  For our July 30 three-state call, we hope to present two technological options for site hosts:
(1) Webinar (a seminar broadcast via the internet) or
(2) Conference call (such as we did for our June 25 gathering).
We are currently testing our capability to broadcast this and future conference calls to sites that have a broadband (Cable, DSL, or T1) internet connection for the webinar.  Future emails will communicate the details for the site hosts.
If we are able to go live with the webinar format in July, sites must be able to project the internet-based presentation (audio and video) from a computer.
If you do not have broadband, and prefer to utilize the conference call format, you only need to have speaker-phone capability that can be adequately amplified, along with the ability to magnify or project a PowerPoint presentation.
  • For those who have broadband: Webinar participants will not need anyone on-site to run the PowerPoint presentation – the presentation and the audio will be streamed to your site via GoToWebinar.com.
  • For those who do not have broadband: The traditional conference call will be an audio transmission, with a PowerPoint presentation available for conference call sites to show while the audio plays, making the event more "informationally friendly." (A person at that site must listen to a separate conference call giving PowerPoint instruction and cues.)
Be assured that the information shared will be extremely beneficial for the future of the cause of Christ.  Saying it another way, it is worth canceling all other appointments in order to be present at one of these locations.
Praise Report for National Day of Prayer
The May 1st National Day of Prayer was indeed a blessing for those of us who participated here in Central Florida.
It was kicked off early in the morning by several local prayer breakfasts, including the 7 AM 41st Annual Central Florida Mayors Prayer Breakfast at the Ballroom at Church Street downtown. 350 people gathered with Mayors, Commissioners and other elected officials from 20 cities and 3 Counties. Special guests were the 35 + Law Enforcement Leaders and their Chaplains from the Tri-County area. They were honored and encouraged by the prayers offered for them, asking for protection for them as they serve to preserve the peace in our communities.
“Meet at City Hall” – a local 12 Noon - 1 PM grassroots prayer initiative - brought “on site prayer” to over 27 local City Halls and County Courthouses. Whether in a larger group, or simply 2 or more gathered in His Name, those who participated reported a sweet unity in the Body, cooperative corporate prayer, and a precious Presence of the Lord at each venue! A very special thank you to all those who stepped up and helped make it possible!
Numerous NDP observances took place in the evening at venues across Central Florida. The closing event of the day was a city-wide, bilingual prayer and praise gathering at Centro Cristiano Restauracion / Restoration Christian Church on Chickasaw Trail, bringing together those from different cultures, languages and ethnic groups. Led by Tomas Lares, State of Florida NDP Coordinator, we moved from “the microcosm to the macrocosm”, praying for the transformation …of individual hearts, families, communities, then cities, states, and nations. The evening concluded as we entered corporately into the Ten Days of Constant Prayer (May 1st-10th), leading up to the Global Day of Prayer, which will take place in 212 nations on Pentecost Sunday, May 11th.
From the rising of the sun to the going down, there was a great release of prayer from the “Children of the Light!”
Pray that it be sustained prayer, extending throughout the Body of Christ here in our Central Florida area! AMEN!
Joyfully submitted by Maureen Bravo, “Friend” of the NDP – Central Florida Area
Danos, te pedimos, la guía para elegir a aquél que te honre y escuche la sabiduría que viene de lo alto de tal forma que nuestra esperanza pueda renovarse y podamos atesorar bendiciones. En el nombre santísimo de Dios.
Inmates for Missions
Dear Friends,
We are working to raise funds to carry former inmates, Dennis Reid, Anthony Hodge, and myself on a short-term missions trip to Honduras to minister.
We have targeted May 10-17, 2008.
We will be there for 8 days , it is likely that we will do some construction, evangelism, ministry, preaching and teaching, and some prison ministry, too.
Can you imagine, ex-offenders learning to give back.
Dennis and Anthony will give their testimonies.
If this interests you, make all checks to: Missionary Ventures USA/ Inmates for Missions 2008. P.O.Box 593550, Orlando, Florida 32859.
This is what we need:
1. Bernard Fleeks, Jr.: $700.00
2. Dennis Reid: $1,200.00
3. Anthony Hodge: $1,200.00
Once a year we want to take one or more former inmates that are Christians, on a short term missions trip, somewhere around the world.  We want these guys to give back to society.  Pray for our trip.  Remember to listen to our new radio broadcast, “ Let the Chaplain Speak”, every Tuesday at 11:15 a.m. on Rejoice 1140 AM.
